What is the Early Access Open Beta?

All Platforms: The Early Access Open Beta is the first of two beta weekends and is open exclusively to customers who pre-order Gears of War: E-Day.

How do I play in the Early Access Open Beta?

All Platforms: Players who pre-order any version of Gears of War: E-Day (Gears of War: E-Day, Gears of War: E-Day Premium Edition, and the Gears of War: E-Day Collector’s Edition) as well as Game Pass Ultimate and PC Game Pass members are eligible to participate in the Early Access Open Beta.

When is the Early Access Open Beta?

All Platforms: The Early Access to the Open Beta will begin on August 6, 2026. More information on start and end times will be announced prior to August 6th.

How will I get my Early Access Open Beta code?

Digital: If you purchased Gears of War: E-Day through the XBOX, or Steam stores, you will automatically get access to the beta and will not receive a code. See below for additional instructions.

Retail: Depending on your region and the retailer you purchased from, you will either receive a code for the Early Access Open Beta over email or printed on your receipt when you place your pre-order or before the beta starts. Some retailers may send you the code at a later date. See below for details on timing. 

When can I expect my Code for the Early Access Open Beta?

Once you’ve placed your pre-order, the Gears of War: E-Day Multiplayer Beta client will appear in your game library. You will be able to download the experience prior to the start of the beta on August 6, 2026.

Retail: After you place your pre-order, you will receive a code prior to the start of the Early Access to the Open Beta on August 6th. Depending on your region and the retailer you purchased from, you will either receive your code over email or printed on your receipt when you place your pre-order. Please check with your specific retailers for timing and delivery details.  Once you’ve redeemed your pre-order code, the Gears of War: E-Day Multiplayer Beta client will appear in your game library. You will be able to download the experience prior to the start of the beta on August 6, 2026.

How do I redeem my code?

Digital (XBOX, Steam: If you purchased Gears of War: E-Day through the XBOX, or Steam stores, you will automatically get access to the beta and will not receive a code. 

XBOX for Retail: Your Early Access Open Beta code can be redeemed on your console in the XBOX Store or at XBOX.com/redeem. Once redeemed, you can download the Gears of War: E-Day Multiplayer Beta client prior to the beta beginning on August 6, 2026. 

Steam for Retail: Your code will grant you access to the Early Access Open Beta and can be redeemed in the Steam Client. See instructions here: https://help.steampowered.com/en/faqs/view/2A12-9D79-C3D7-F870. Once redeemed, you can download the Gears of War: E-Day Multiplayer Beta client prior to the beta beginning on August 6, 2026.
